All the best for Year 4

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone in Room 19 all the best for 2016 and I look forward to seeing you in your smart senior school uniforms in the playground next year.
Kind regards,
Mrs Bear

Our Christmas Castle

We had to cut each lammington in half and off set each brick to keep the walls stable.
Demolishing the castle was easy (and quite tasty!)
Instead of a gingerbread house, Room 19 made a lammington castle.  First, everyone made a plan of the castle in small groups and then we constructed it.  Instead of reindeer, we had a fire breathing dragon and rocket boosters (thanks to Sam and Oliver) but, of course, we had snow - delicious flakes of coconut snow!

Class Christmas Party

We all pulled out crackers at the same time - what a BANG!

Room 19 had a Class Christmas Party on the last Monday of term - crackers, hats, jokes and plenty of good things to eat!

Celebration Night

The entire field was nearly filled with families watching the show.

The Weka Team went back to the 1970s on Celebration Night when we performed to a medley of songs by the Bee Gees.  We were looked groovy and we certainly had all the moves!

Christmas Art

During the last week of school, we made some Christmas art - we threaded popcorn to decorate our Christmas tree and made a festive banner for the classroom windows.

Christmas Science

It wouldn't really be Room 19 without some Christmas Science.  We investigated how green and red dye diffused through water at different temperatures - icy cold, room temperature and hot.  The patterns the dyes made were beautiful to watch and we thought of some interesting similes as we watched the dyes move through the clear water.

Computer programming

Everyone had a go at computer programming using the code.org app.  At school we started programming Star Wars characters, but there were also characters from Frozen and Minecraft to try out at home in the holidays.
