Greah's training session
Oliver,  Charlotte, Greah, Charlie and Sam went to iMovie training with Mrs Nichol, and then came back to train the rest of the class in small groups.  Great work, IT Team!

Swimming Art

After the Middle School Swimming Sports, we wrote about it and illustrated our writing with a birds' eye view of our swimming in the pool.  We learned how to blend white and blue paint to make water-like surface.

Visit to the Mangere Bridge Education Centre

On Tuesday Room 2 and Room 19 visited the Mangere Bridge Education Centre to leave about Maori culture and take part in some traditional Maori activities such as kite making, weaving with flax and using traditional tools.  We also went for a walk on Mangere Mountain and learned something about this historic pa site and daily life in pre-European times.

Esmond joins the Room 19 team

Esmond joined Room 19 from China this week.  Welcome to the Weka Team, Esmond.

PAT Maths

Everyone in Year 3 sat their PAT Maths test online his year.  At the end of the Maths questions you had to do a quick online survey.  Everyone answered that they found the questions were interesting, but most people said that they found the test was hard.

Class councillors for Room 19

After the speeches, we all cast our secret vote.  Later Mrs Bear counted the votes - people with the most votes were Greah with 9 and Sam with 5, so Greah will be Class Councillor and Sam Deputy Class Councillor in Room 19.
Everyone wrote a speech explaining how they would be the best class councillor.  Then people who wanted to could give their speech to the class to persuade people to vote for them.  Here is Lauren giving her speech to the class.

Cockle Bay beats the rain

We had to wait for the storm to pass before we could go on the waterslide - here we are dancing in the rain.

Greah, Sophie and Nissi found a rainy waterfall!

At last the skies cleared but . . . we'd missed our turn!  Fortunately the year 6s shared their time with us.

While we were waiting for the rain to stop, we had a beach party in Room 19.

Never ending rain!

This rain won't  stop.  NOOOOOO! I can't go on the water slide today. 1 minute later . . . YAY my wish came true.  I got to go on the water slide.  It wasn't what I expected. I had to stop half way on the water slide that I really hated.  Remind me next time to give myself a extra push at the top of the water
slide!
