Measuring

We all came out of the classroom and sat on the AstroTurf. Then we got a giant  ruler and measured a model of the sun! Here are some photos of us doing it.

We had to measure 15 metres from the Sun to Earth to get the right idea about scale in the Solar system.

Measuring the Solar System

Room 19 came out of the class room.   We started to measure from the Sun to Earth.  We measured one metre with a ruler to show another metre. This is Monique putting the ruler on the ground and then the peg.  In the end we saw it was 15 metres long.  There was the Sun at one end and the Earth at the other end.
